Why Is My Tumble Dryer Not Heating?
The heating element is protected by a thermal fuse and one or more thermostats. When lint blocks the filter, the vent hose or the condenser, the dryer overheats and the thermal fuse blows to protect it, leaving the drum turning with no heat. An element that has burned out, or a thermostat stuck open, gives the same result. Heat pump dryers also stop heating when the condenser or filters are clogged.
