Why Is My Fridge Leaking Water?
Every frost-free fridge melts its frost several times a day and sends the water down a small drain hole at the back of the fridge compartment to a tray above the compressor, where it evaporates. When that drain blocks with food debris or ice, water runs into the salad drawer and out onto the floor. A cracked tray, a worn door seal or a fridge tilted forward cause the same puddle.

Safe Steps Before the Visit
Mop up water near the socket first. If the plug or outlet is wet, unplug the fridge from a dry position and leave it off until the area is dry. Empty the salad drawer and look for a small hole at the back of the fridge compartment: if it is blocked with debris, that is the likely cause.
Use warm water and a soft tool such as a pipe cleaner to clear a blocked drain. A knife can puncture the cooling pipes behind the liner, so leave stubborn ice to the technician.
Stop using the socket if it is wet, scorched or buzzing, and keep children and pets away from the puddle until it is cleared.
