Fridge Warm but Freezer Cold?
This is the most common pattern on frost-free fridge-freezers. The cold air for the fridge is made in the freezer and blown through a channel by a fan. When the defrost system fails, ice blocks that channel or stops the fan, and the fridge warms while the freezer stays cold. Repairing the defrost heater, timer or sensor and clearing the ice restores cooling.
Does Poor Cooling Mean the Fridge Needs Gas?
Only when there is a leak. A fridge keeps its refrigerant for life in a sealed system, so a gas shortage always comes with a leak in a pipe or joint. When our test confirms it, we repair the leak and regas in the same visit wherever possible.
