Why Is My Washing Machine Door Still Locked?
Wait two or three minutes after the cycle first: most door locks release on a timer. If the door stays shut, check for water in the drum. A machine that has not drained keeps the door locked for safety, so the real fault is often the drain. When the drum is empty and the door still will not open, the door lock or the handle and latch have usually failed.
