Why Is My Washing Machine Drum Not Turning?
With the machine off, turn the empty drum by hand. If it spins freely with no resistance, the belt has usually snapped or slipped off. If it will not move, something is jammed between the drum and the tub, or the bearings have seized. If the drum turns but the motor never drives it, the carbon brushes, motor, tacho or control board is the likely fault.
